On the evening of Saturday, April 26th, students, faculty, parents, and guests came together over dinner to honor student achievement during the past year. The School of Business hosted the dinner and the award ceremony that recognized students in a number of categories. Honorees included those inducted into honor fraternities, such as Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma, scholarship winners, and competition winners such as Phi Beta Lambda and Students in Free Enterprise.

After a short introduction by Dean Renée Wachter, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Troy Paino, spoke to the attendees about the honors they have achieved as well as their combined efforts to uphold the sterling reputation enjoyed by the School of Business. Dr. Paino spoke of his colleagues at Wynona State who, upon hearing that he had accepted a position at Truman, said “Now you get to work at a university with a real School of Business.” This comment was not only a nod to the professors who make the School of Business strong, Paino explained, but also a sincere compliment to the students of the School of Business who continually prove their excellence.
