Business Academic Advising Center (BAAC)

The Business Academic Advisor works with pre-business and pre-accounting majors and declared business administration and accounting majors.  The advisor serves as a source of information concerning university and School of Business resources, procedures, and policies.  The BAAC assists students with issues such as setting goals, selecting courses, scheduling and registering, exploring the accounting and business programs, and investigating career ideas.  The Business Academic Advisor is available to consult with students, advisors, and faculty both within and outside of the School of Business.  The advisor also works with the academic advisors of the Residential College Program (RCP).  These advisors are primarily responsible for advising first-year and undeclared students.  They also advise second year pre-accounting and pre-business majors.

The Business Academic Advisor, Mrs. Marilyn Romine, works primarily with transfer students, international exchange students, and students who change to a major in pre-business or pre-accounting after their first year at Truman.  Once all requirements have been met for admission into the accounting or business administration major, students apply for and are accepted into the Business Administration or Accounting Program and are reassigned to a faculty advisor in their area of interest (accounting, finance, management, management information systems, or marketing).
